The images in the David Cooper Workshop group of galleries were shot in David's studio in Vancouver, BC, October 23-24, 2010. David opened his studio to six photographers for an intensive two-day workshop on dance photography and lighting. David provided the use of his Hasselblad for each of us to shoot. Nine dancers joined us over the two day period; four from the Vancouver-based 605 Collective on Saturday, and four from Ballet British Columbia, along with one additional dancer from Goh Ballet in Vancouver. All were fabulous dancers, and provided us a wonderful opportunity to stage and photograph them as our visions dictated. David Cooper's considerable talent for dance photography was equaled by his hospitality and willingness to share his techniques and insights. If you aren't familiar with David Cooper yet, you will be....
The images in this gallery are low resolution preview jpegs shot by me on the Hasselblad, featuring Alexis Fletcher, Makaila Wallace, Peter Smida and Connor Gnam from Ballet British Columbia, and Amber Barton, Lisa Gelley, Shay Kuebler, and Josh Martin from the 605 Collective.
